Founder & Managing Principal

J Robert Wheatley founded Robert Wheatley Properties, a full-service real estate company in 1986. His goal was to build a company with core competencies in property management, operations and maintenance, accounting, leasing, construction, acquisition and disposition of property, and property strategy to service his own and a select group of partners’ acquired commercial real estate. Robert has current ownership and management interests in over one million square feet of commercial properties. While Robert has personally developed new products from the ground up, a particular strength has been repositioning and full renovation of well-located existing buildings allowing for quick turnaround to profitability. Robert’s various stewardship roles from leasing agent to manager to owner to trustee have included responsibility for approximately three and a half million square feet of space with property values approaching $2.5 billion. Robert graduated from Brigham Young University with a BA degree in Economics and French and an MBA with an emphasis in Finance. He is thankful to his father who put him to work at age 14 as a construction laborer and eventually a carpenter which better positioned Robert for professional life. He resides in Los Altos Hills with his wife Lisa enjoying visits from their five adult children and seven grandchildren.
